The London-listed licensing and games developer made a staggering ?7.7 million in revenue in the first six months of the year. While a significant portion of the revenue growth was due to COVID-based lockdowns, the company stressed that it continues to be consistent and that the board is confident in its future performance. This included an expanded portfolio of games and the consequent increase in distribution, which drove a 39% increase in content licensing revenue to ?4.1 million.
In addition, the company’s enhanced branded licensing products led to a 298% increase in revenue in the segment to ?1.7 million. Social revenue also experienced a significant uptick with a 7% increase due to new Slingo content and improved player management and additional player engagement features.
Gaming Realms made a staggering profit on its debut in the Italian market earlier this year. The mobile-focused gaming content developer is now looking to build on recent successes and is poised to expand into other markets in the second half of the year.
Michael Buckley, Executive Chairman of Gaming Realms, commented: “With a strong game development pipeline, a clear strategy to continue to expand international distribution, and anticipation of continued customer demand from the Group, the Board expects full-year transaction volume to be in line with market expectations and remains confident in the strategic prospects of the business. ”
“With recent launches in Michigan and Pennsylvania, the Group is working to amplify the tremendous opportunities offered by these markets. After seeing the encouraging response from Italian players to our Slingo content, we are also looking to expand into other regulated markets and strengthen our position in Europe. He added.
The year ahead
Following the success of three operators in Michigan, Gaming Realms plans to meet the growing demand by focusing on further expansion in the US, with NSW announcing its intention to regulate iGaming. The company is also licensed in Ontario, Canada, where the country is pushing for iGaming legalization. Gaming Realms will also continue to strengthen its in-house market penetration by focusing on adding new distributors, operators and licensors to its growing offerings.
“This is an exciting time for the company, and we intend to continue to deliver more value by expanding our platform while bringing innovative content to new audiences around the world,” Buckley concluded. Michigan and Pennsylvania are expected to have more material impact in the second half of the year, and the board is confident in the future performance of the business. ”
