Large Operators Block Dutch Consumers, Waiting for Licenses to be Issued

Content Team

This move is to ensure compliance with the new Dutch gambling regulations

Since the latest Dutch Remote Gaming Act (KOA) was finalized, Kansspelautoriteit has issued 10 licenses to online gambling operators. Any online 바카라 that does not comply with the law will be fined, which is exactly what happened with Tipico, but the operator says they are not targeting the Dutch market at all. Despite this, many Dutch players have registered on the site, so the Tipico violation is true. In addition to fines, Tipico began a six-month “cooling-off” phase C unlicensed operators had to wait six months before applying for a license after unlicensed operating activities were discovered.

It may not be worth it, and Entain seems to have anticipated it. For a loss of almost 6 million euros in revenue per month, Entain blocked all Dutch players. Betsson, which loses about 2.5 million euros per month, did the same. Both operators will withdraw from the Dutch market from October 1.

The probability of successful licence applications is quite high, and most of the applications received by the Kanspelautoriteit project are approved. So far, only 28 operators have submitted applications, each paying 48,000 euros to start the review process.

Kindred Group is another major player who prefers to bet big. Their approach was to simply ignore the Dutch market, not to set up any ads there, and the result was to miraculously dodge the bullet that hit Tipico.
