SiGMA conferences are filled with systematic, organised and insightful content from inspiring speakers. Over the years, SiGMA has featured various well-known personalities. In the coming year, expect more and better
Event organising company SiGMA has always had a strong focus on bringing people together. Since its inception in 2014, the SiGMA Summit has been a link for a rapidly expanding network of gaming enthusiasts and visionaries.
Our previous SiGMA conferences have attracted policymakers, influencers, thought leaders, and senior executives from the iGaming space around the world and connected them with our audience.
SiGMA Americas will kick off with a full day of networking and debate at delegates’ conferences, including popular esports and poker tournaments, as well as a gaming awards night.
In this post, we’ll take a look at some of the pioneers in the industry who, over the years, have been more than willing to share their ideas and vision through keynotes, panel discussions, and fireside conversations with our delegates.
Nolan Bushnell:
The founder of Atari and the creator of Pong, Nolan Bushnell, is rightfully considered the father of electronic games. Bushnell created his first computer video game, Computer Space, in 1970, being fascinated by the combination of computers, visuals, and fun. Bushnell opened more than 20 businesses. He has experience in a variety of industries, including computers and robots. Games released by Bushnell’s firms over the next few years, such as Asteroids, spawned not only slot machines, but an entire industry that is still thriving today. Bushnell’s contributions to the SiGMA ecosystem are important and very valuable.
Calvin Ayre:
The career of Calvin Eyre, a well-known figure in the gambling business, is a real success story. Ayre has risen through the ranks in global entrepreneurship thanks to his dedication and resourcefulness. Calvin saw the Internet early on and became one of the first digital millionaires of the twenty-first century. Ayre founded the online gambling startup Bodog in 2000, and its success made him a billionaire. As online gaming grew in popularity in the mid-2000s, so did Ayre’s prominence, earning him the cover of Forbes magazine’s annual billionaire issue in 2006 and Star’s list of the Most Outstanding Billionaire Bachelors in late 2007. Air’s dedication to business has earned him a special place in the industry.
Roberto Carlos:
The SiGMA conference was attended by 2002 World Champion and three-time Champions League winner Roberto Carlos. Roberto Carlos spent 11 seasons at Real Madrid, earning many major awards, including three European Championship Cups. He left Madrid in 2007 after helping the club win another La Liga title. He holds the record for the number of games played by a foreigner. The football legend attended the summit, followed by an exclusive dinner as the guest of honor with some of the most prominent innovators and regulators in gaming and blockchain.
Djibril Cisse:
The SiGMA Europe event in 2021 featured another prominent football star who has had an outstanding career playing for some of the best clubs in the world, including Liverpool and Marseille. Ciss’s overcoming serious injuries was the epitome of perseverance and character, and he joined the Betiton team as a partner in its marketing and pursuit of growth. During his participation in SiGMA Europe, Ciss announced that he was ditching his football boots for a job as a DJ and was looking forward to his new adventure.
Queen Diambi Kabatsuila:
Even the Royal Highness of the Congo herself attended SiGMA events. Activist and businesswoman Queen Diambi is the traditional queen of the Order of the Leopard of the Bakwa Luntu tribe in the Central Kasai, once part of the historic Kingdom of Luba. In addition to her reign, Queen Diambi is also the founder and board director of the Elikia Hope Foundation, New York, USA.
