Voices from the SiGMA Poker Tour: Robin Poker, a touch of Northern charm

Having met Lukas Robinson,?better known to his ever-growing online poker fanbase as “Robin Poker” a number of times now, and having had the pleasure of chatting with his partner Jodie too, Ive come to a realisation that these two are pokers future golden couple. And as this first-ever SiGMA Poker Tour unfolds in Brazil, theres a quiet certainty that Lukas isnt just here to play, but hes here to win. We caught up during Day 3 of the tour.

Hows it going so far?

The event honestly? Lukas smiles, a little winded from the adrenaline, but beaming. Ive played poker all across the world, and this? This is special. When Ivonne Montealegre first approached me about being an ambassador of the SiGMA Poker Tour, I just had this gut feeling that this was something different. Its even more unique than I expected. The people, the Brazilian food, the vibe – its been unreal.

And you can feel it in the air. Monte Carlo Poker Club is buzzing with locals, tourists, pros, and streamers. But the mood isnt the usual clinical silence of high-stakes competition. Theres laughter, live music, a professional violinist and pianist, and clinking glasses. Its poker, yes, but its also culture, warmth, fun, and educational.

Robin Poker on the sign-up process

Its super simple, Robinson explains, you register with your ID, then pay the buy-in – cash or card. Like todays Divas event? Free. Yesterdays main was $770. The setup is slick, professional,? but more than that, it feels safe. Thats not something you take for granted in poker.

Lukas Robinson is right. Anyone who’s played in underground scenes or lesser-known online platforms knows the risks. SiGMA has the name, the brand. People trust it. That matters, he explains.

He leans forward. Most poker tournaments are cold. Sunglasses on, hoodies up, no chat, just money-making. This isnt that. This is… community. This is an experience. Youre not just paying to play cards, youre paying for food, drinks,? the whole thing, the full immersive experience. Its closer to something like golf or chess, simply a social hobby. You spend it to enjoy it, in the same way that you would spend money to play golf.

Its an ethos Lukas lives by, one hes quick to pass on to his Twitch followers. For someone who made a name online,? famously playing 1,000 hours of poker in 100 days live on stream,? hes now deeply immersed in the vibrancy of live play. Absolutely, if youre extroverted, or even just curious. Online pokers great, but it lacks connection. Here, Im chatting in broken Portuguese with locals. Im tasting their food. Its real. Ive played online for four years. Now? Im falling in love with live poker all over again.

Jodie and the future

Lukas doesnt skip a beat. Weve been together seven and a half years. Engaged now. Met when we were kids. I was 19, she was 18. Back then, I was in a family business. She worked in a shop. We had dreams. And shes always supported mine.

Its rare to hear someone speak about their partner with such open admiration. When I said I wanted to quit my job to go full-time poker, she backed me 100 percent. And last year? She left her job to become a video editor, my editor.

The plan was simple: travel the world, play poker, create content together. When Ivonne pitched the SiGMA tour, I just knew it was right. And now were here. In Brazil. Living it.

Brazils move towards regulation

Lukas lights up. It’s massive. Brazils already top-three globally for online poker traffic. But until recently, no 바카라s. Its seen as gambling, not a skill. Thats changing now.

You can hear the excitement in his voice. Theres always a Brazilian at my table online. Theyre passionate. And now, live poker is opening up here. Seeing eight-plus tables at the ladies-only event, everyone smiling, laughing, its beautiful. Brazil loves two things I love: football and poker.

SiGMA Poker Tour in Malta

He grins. A big one – SCOOP. Thats PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker. Ive never won a world title, but last year I got second. Close! This year, I want the crown.

And then? Vegas. World Series of Poker. $10,000 buy-in. $10 million for first. So fingers crossed, when you see me in Malta, Ill be a millionaire.

He laughs, but theres a twinkle in his eye that tells me he isnt joking.

Yeah. If you love poker, come experience it properly. Not in isolation. Not in silence. Come somewhere like this. Talk to people. Eat the food. Soak it all in.

And with that, hes off –  back on the tables, chips stacked, Jodie smiling from the rail.

If theres a player to watch this season, its Robin Poker. And if theres a couple to root for? Its Lukas and Jodie –  the gold standard in love and poker.
