In a special feature from the floor of SiGMA Americas, Otto Bonning, Head of Sales at DATA.BET details how the company is extending its market-making prowess in esports betting to Latin America. With Brazil standing out as a prime focus, DATA.BET is bringing its tested European success model into a market hungry for structured and high-performing solutions.
Esports is extremely popular, especially in Brazil, Bonning shared during the interview. Now is a good time for our company, as we have grown a bit from previous years, to come into the LATAM market and hopefully be successful here.
DATA.BETs offering goes beyond basic odds feeds. Bonning described the company as a full esports solution, where operators are provided with a complete iframe setup designed for seamless integration. The iframe includes streaming, widgets, a bet builder, and built-in risk management, offering end-to-end support that enables operators to thrive without the complications typically associated with entering the esports vertical.
We serve both B2Bs, platform providers, and end operators, Bonning explained. But I think our main focus today and here in the LATAM market is the end operators where we bring out our new SPA or iframe, a full plug-and-play solution for all things esports.
When asked what sets DATA.BET apart, Bonning was direct: Think of it as this. When, in most cases, a price is set in the market, we are essentially the trendsetter in this space. The whole industry is looking for DATA.BETs numbers. The companys role as a market maker is underpinned by a heavy emphasis on technology, advanced trading models, and constant improvement based on real-time data analysis.
Bonning acknowledged the inherent volatility of esports but highlighted DATA.BETs ability to bring consistency and high-margin performance to its partners. You can rest assured that you dont have to be worried that it will fluctuate, he noted. Esports is so tricky, so unpredictable. You need a partner with the knowledge, support, and performance like DATA.BET.
The companys infrastructure is built for stability and growth, backed by AI-driven tools and 24/7 monitoring to ensure operators can manage risk effectively without sacrificing profitability.
Although LATAM is the focus of current expansion, Bonning reaffirmed that Europe remains foundational. We are still focusing on Europe, but now with LATAM coming in, thats going to be our two main markets, he said. We continue to grow in Europe, but we take all that success and all that knowledge with us coming into LATAM.
The future of esports, while promising, is not without its challenges. Bonning pointed to the current lack of year-round, organised tournaments as a key limitation in expanding the betting landscape. We do need more seasonality of the sport, he said. Thats what we are lacking as an esports communityto have more organised events, more content that we can give to our operators.
He added that a more structured schedule would provide operators and punters alike with daily opportunities, moving beyond the current concentration of activity on weekends. There needs to be something from Monday to Sunday, something there to bet on on a daily basis.
Bonning described SiGMA Americas as an ideal platform for gaining visibility and strengthening relationships. Its still very much a face-to-face industry, he explained. Its important to be here and promote our products in front of the industry. He also praised the execution of the event, stating, Im super pleased with the team, what theyve done with the stand, with everything that goes into this. We made the right choice to come.
By building on its European pedigree and refining its technology for a LATAM audience, DATA.BET is positioning itself as a key enabler in the next phase of esports betting. With a complete product suite, deep market insight, and the ability to set the pace for the entire industry, DATA.BET is poised to support operators and platform providers in one of the most promising growth territories for esports.
