Vietnam’s esports industry is growing at an unprecedented pace, backed by strong government support and major media involvement. With esports now a recognised part of the country’s digital economy strategy, investment, policies, and infrastructure are accelerating rapidly. According to a report by PR Newswire, ON Live Esports (OLE), a division of Vietnam Television Cable (VTVcab), is leading this transformation.

Through strategic partnerships with Riot Games, SOOP, VNGGames, Garena, and VIRESA, Vietnam is positioning itself as a global esports powerhouse. Unlike in many countries where esports struggles for recognition, Vietnam’s government actively promotes the industry, ensuring its integration into mainstream media.

ON Live Esports role

As Vietnam’s largest esports broadcaster and organiser, OLE has played a crucial role in elevating the industry. With exclusive broadcasting rights for major tournaments, OLE has brought esports to national television, making it more accessible to the general public.

In 2025, OLE became the title sponsor of Vietnam’s premier League of Legends tournament. Now renamed the ON Live Vietnam Championship Series (VCS) 2025, the event is organised by VIRESA and VNGGames and is set to begin on 28 February 2025. This milestone marks the deepening collaboration between esports and traditional broadcasting.

OLE has also secured an exclusive media rights partnership with Garena, making it the official distributor for Vietnam’s entire Arena of Valor tournament system. These partnerships ensure that OLE remains at the forefront of esports broadcasting, expanding its influence both locally and internationally.

The Vietnamese Government said, “Broadcasting the National Championship of League of Legends, Valorant & Arena of Valor on VTVcab platforms. OLE aims to become a leading entity in owning, organising, producing, and broadcasting top-tier esports tournaments.”

Expanding reach through television and digital platforms

Esports has traditionally been limited to digital platforms, but OLE is bridging the gap between digital and mainstream media. By broadcasting League of Legends, Valorant, and Arena of Valor on VTVcab’s platforms, OLE ensures that esports content reaches millions of viewers, further solidifying its position as a leading media entity.

Following the success of ON Live Valorant Series (OVS) Season 1, OLE quickly launched Season 2, demonstrating its commitment to expanding Vietnam’s esports ecosystem. The event has drawn significant attention, further integrating esports into mainstream sports culture.
