Team Versatile triumphs at BGIS 2025, unlocking India's esports potential
For the first time in history, the grand finale of BGIS was held in Kolkata. The passionate crowds and rich cultural heritage of the city delivered the heat and vigour the event needed. The legendary Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan became an esports battlefield like never before. More than 15,000 thunderous fans packed the premises, forming a sea of lights, banners, chants, and unmatchable energy.

Team Versatile didn’t start as the obvious favourite, but they played like true warriors. They held their nerve in clutch moments, dominated crucial games, and earned every bit of their championship run. They outclassed others with smart rotations, tight calls, and top-tier fragging, whether it was their clutch finish in Game 14 or their coordinated push in the final match.
With ₹3.2 crores ($375,680) in total prize money, BGIS 2025 had one of the biggest pools in Indian esports history. , Team Versatile, walked away with ₹69.6 lakhs ($81,960), etching their names in gold.
The event started in February 2025. Through intense qualifiers and playoffs, only the top 16 teams qualified for the Grand Finals that took place between 25 and 27 April 2025. Within three days, 18 edge-of-the-seat matches were contested. The finale was streamed on KRAFTON India Esports’ YouTube channel, garnering record-breaking views. It was broadcasted in 10 different languages, allowing fans from all over India to feel engaged.
