Unregulated AI use in 바카라s may cause troubles, experts warn
AI is increasingly being used in 바카라s, prompting renewed calls for tighter regulation amid growing concerns over its potential impact on player welfare and ethical standards within the gambling industry.
From surveillance and customer profiling to fraud detection and personalised marketing, AI tools are increasingly being deployed on 바카라 floors. While such technologies promise improved efficiency and security, new research warns they could also expose vulnerable players to greater risk if left unregulated.
A recent study published in the International Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Administration, titled Identifying Risks and Ethical Considerations of AI in Gambling, stresses the need for clear guidelines to govern AI use in the sector, GGRAsia reports. The report recommends independent audits of AI systems and ethical training for developers, especially in relation to at-risk populations.
Unoptimised AI could create problems
The paper, co-authored by Dr Nasim Binesh of the University of Florida and Dr Kasra Ghaharian of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, warns that profit-driven AI systems could identify and target individuals susceptible to addiction. “AI systems designed to optimise profit could push vulnerable players deeper into harmful behaviours,” said Dr Binesh.
She added, “The potential for AI to exacerbate gambling harms is a stark reality that demands immediate and informed action. This call for clear AI guidelines is not just a recommendation – it is imperative for the future of ethical gambling.”
These concerns are not isolated. Dr Kasra Ghaharian, Director of Research at the International Gaming Institute at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, echoed similar sentiments, describing AI as a “double-edged sword”. While it has the potential to detect early signs of problem gambling, he warned it could also be misused to maximise player losses. “The ethical challenge lies in how the data is used,” he said. “We must ensure AI serves consumer protection, not just corporate gain.”
Not an isolated alarm
Likewise, iGaming lawyer Ron Segev, founding partner at Segev LLP, supported the call for stronger regulation. “AI can significantly enhance 바카라 operations, but there’s a real danger if it’s used to encourage compulsive gambling,” he said. “Oversight, transparency, and privacy protections are absolutely critical.”
Despite the rapid rise in AI use, few regulations currently govern its application in gaming, either in the United States or globally. In March, the International Gaming Standards Association’s Ethical AI Standards Committee began developing a best-practices framework to help regulators better understand and manage AI in the industry.
Experts argue that with digital habits evolving rapidly, the stakes have never been higher. As AI reshapes the future of gambling, protecting the public must remain a top priority.
