Nearly a week after The Game — operators of The UAE Lottery, the first and only federally licensed lottery in the Gulf region — launched its national lottery platform for public participation, the organisation has announced its acceptance as a member of the World Lottery Association (WLA).

The UAE Lottery was federally licensed in November 2024 by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), and its platform officially launched in June 2025.

This is an important milestone for The Game as it strengthens its position globally and shows its dedication to following the highest standards of integrity, player protection, security, and social responsibility.

A step forward in global collaboration

The WLA membership gives The Game access to a globally recognised framework that supports current operations and enables collaboration with over 150 government-authorised lotteries and more than 70 associated suppliers worldwide. It also provides the UAE Lottery with access to international best practices in responsible gaming, security, innovation, combating illegal operators, and maintaining integrity in sport.

“Becoming a WLA member is a proud milestone for The UAE Lottery, which is committed to operational excellence, innovation in player experience, and advancing the regional regulated gaming sector,” said Bishop Woosley, Director of Lottery Operations at The Game LLC.

“We are focused on delivering a world-class lottery experience within the Gulf region, while remaining aligned with the values the WLA upholds.”

Supporting the UAE’s regulated gaming vision

Kevin Mullally, CEO of the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), as recognition of the UAE’s growing role in global gaming. “The UAE Lottery’s acceptance as a member highlights the effectiveness of our efforts to facilitate the development of a commercial regulated gaming sector specifically tailored for the UAE, while positioning the country as a proactive contributor to the WLA’s global collaboration initiatives,” Mullally said.

Commitment to responsible gaming

Full membership in the WLA highlights The Game’s ambition to build a secure, future-ready lottery that’s connected with the global industry. The UAE Lottery is focused on adding to the country’s entertainment scene while promoting responsible gaming and supporting the community through meaningful initiatives.

Momentum Group said, “This achievement is a big step in our global presence and shows our strong commitment to the highest international standards of integrity, responsible gaming, security, and corporate responsibility.”

Responsible gaming is at the core of The UAE Lottery’s mission. The organisation is working to make the player experience safe and enjoyable while putting strong safeguards in place and supporting social initiatives that give back to the community.
