SYNOT executives on Balkans iGaming prospects

Kateryna Skrypnyk

A deep commitment to regulated markets could become a significant differentiator in the global iGaming market. SYNOT Group is an international group of companies based in the Czech Republic, operating in over 40 countries worldwide. The company’s main activity is the supply of advanced technologies and solutions for land-based and online gambling in fully regulated jurisdictions.

SYNOT Group has a long-standing presence in the Balkan market and is one of the leading providers in the region. In an exclusive interview with SiGMA News, company executives , Director of International Business Development (pictured), and , Director of Sales, spoke about the path to leadership and expansion plans in the Balkans.

Expert assessment of the Balkan gambling market

Bulgaria is a highly competitive market, Stanev begins. To stand out, a company needs to offer innovative solutions and top-level gaming products that truly capture players’ attention.

The region is very competitive, but on the other hand, the regulatory framework is reasonable, and the level of regulation is much more balanced compared to, for example, some Western European countries. ‘I consider this an advantage, as it allows us to remain flexible while applying the most effective ways to protect players,’ says Andrysek.

In addition, the number of slot machines in this region is significantly higher than in many other parts of the world. According to Andrysek, this is facilitated by ‘a balanced regulatory framework and a historical focus on gaming activities.’

In terms of growth and investment potential, SYNOT occupies a powerful position in the Greek market. In addition to the online 바카라 sector, it holds about 28% of the land-based operations market. The company feels very confident here, working closely with key players, and strives to maintain its strong position in this market. To this end, it continues to invest heavily in Greece.

Attractive areas for development in the Balkans

In addition to Bulgaria, the company has a strong presence in Serbia and North Macedonia and is showing steady growth in Croatia. As for future potential markets, the team is closely monitoring the Albanian market. ‘This market could offer significant opportunities for the distribution of slot machines and, potentially, for the management of online 바카라s,’ explains Andrysek.

The iGaming market’s revenues continue to grow in all jurisdictions across the Balkan region. According to Stanev, online operations are in high demand here, and in most jurisdictions, SYNOT is close to achieving full coverage of the online 바카라 market. Since 2012, the company has been focusing its attention on the Hungarian market. Since the cancellation of the VLT project, only a few operators across the country still offer slot machines.

SYNOT’s strategic goals

The company’s primary objective for the next five years is to further solidify its position in both land-based and online 바카라s across all markets in the Balkan region. This year, the brand successfully entered the Hungarian market, integrating online content into some regulated online 바카라s for the first time. Next year, the company plans to enter the Slovenian market with land-based gaming products.

‘The presence in almost all Balkan markets allows us to continue our expansion based on the potential of individual markets. We closely monitor regulations and provide cutting-edge technology to various jurisdictions to maintain our leadership,’ adds Stanev.

SYNOT covers all verticals of the gaming business as a supplier and operator. For example, an online 바카라 was recently launched in Serbia under the SYNOT TIP brand. The company is actively exploring further opportunities to expand its role as a leading operator in the region.

The needs of Balkan players as the basis for strategy

‘The preferences of Balkan players are very similar to those of Eastern European players, for whom many of the brand’s original gaming concepts were developed. Meeting the needs of local players is what the company continues to build its game development strategies on,’ say SYNOT executives.

In line with its player-focused strategy, the company has taken the following steps:

  • Custom game development is available for large iGaming operators. Key operators in the region, including OPAP and Stoiximan in Greece, have already taken advantage of this service.
  • In line with market trends, the company provides a solution for online games in the live game studio format. Operating a studio in the Czech Republic, the team is actively exploring opportunities to establish a presence for this product in the Balkan region.
  • In addition, the team plans to launch a new 바카라 management system called SYNNET. It has already been launched in some Balkan operations, providing CMS services to more than 1,200 gaming devices. Its commercial use in the region is scheduled to begin in the second half of this year.

SYNOT’s local and global partnerships

Among the company’s key strategic partners in the Balkan region are OPAP, the national lottery operator in Greece, as well as major players in the iGaming market, including Maxbet, Mozzart, Stoiximan, FAV Bet, Fortuna, SoccerBet, and SuperSport. SYNOT concluded one of the latest successful partnerships with the Bulgarian company Efbet, which saw the installation of the first Firebird slot machines in Bulgaria.

While strengthening its market position, SYNOT pays excellent attention to social responsibility. Founded in 2000 to support children and young people, the SYNOT Foundation has expanded its activities throughout the Czech Republic. It has supported dozens of community projects and made its own contribution to the non-profit sector.

The company actively supports sports, including football, hockey, and horse racing, as well as education. In particular, the well-known ORBIS educational complex currently hosts more than 300 students.

In terms of cooperation with global organisations, the team works closely with regulatory and certification bodies as part of its core activities. It has established strong relationships with organisations such as BMM, GLI, and other certification bodies. The company has also participated in expert groups and consultations with regulatory authorities in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and other Balkan jurisdictions.

Comprehensive responsible gaming measures

‘The company’s clear policy is to operate exclusively in fully regulated markets,’ Andrysek emphasises. Another essential part of SYNOT’s approach is sharing knowledge and experience with local regulatory authorities to help create a safe environment for players. The company actively participates in initiatives aimed at eradicating illegal gambling worldwide.

Furthermore, SYNOT provides a hotline for players facing gambling problems. As part of its ongoing commitment to responsible gaming, the team is exploring the use of AI tools to identify potentially problematic player behaviour in the company’s online operations.
