Relax Gaming has signed a licensing deal with Stakelogic to integrate the ClusterBreaker mechanic into its game portfolio. The agreement will allow Relax Gaming’s operator partners to access this distinctive feature, which enhances cluster-based slot gameplay through a unique symbol-splitting function.
Originally launched in December 2024 with the title Fire & Gold ClusterBreaker, the mechanic introduces an alternative to traditional cluster pay systems. Unlike standard cluster slots that rely on adjacent matching symbols, ClusterBreaker allows individual symbols to split into two, three, or four smaller ones. This creates more opportunities for matches and enhances overall gameplay dynamics.
The innovation enables developers to build games using a more compact reel layout compared to the large grid structures typically found in cluster slots, which often go up to 9×9 in size. This compact design helps maintain a cleaner visual experience, especially on mobile screens, without losing the core functionality of cluster-based play.
The integration of supports improved visibility and performance across mobile devices. By reducing reel size while increasing match possibilities, the feature allows for games that are easier to navigate and faster to load. This aligns with the growing demand for mobile-first game development and responsive slot design.
Relax Gaming’s decision to incorporate this mechanic underlines the industry’s interest in fresh features that build on existing formats. With ClusterBreaker, the focus shifts to how symbols behave and interact on-screen, offering a new layer of engagement for players who are already familiar with cluster pay systems.
Commenting on the partnership, Stephan van den Oetelaar, CEO of Stakelogic, said, “Our ClusterBreaker mechanic has set a new standard in cluster-based gaming by combining simplicity with thrilling winning potential. Partnering with Relax Gaming allows us to expand its reach and let even more players experience something truly special. We’re excited to see the impact this will have on player engagement across Relax Gaming’s extensive network.”
Martin Stålros, CEO of Relax Gaming, added, “Relax Gaming is always striving to drive differentiation and incorporate innovative features that will provide a competitive advantage in the industry – the ClusterBreaker mechanic from Stakelogic is exactly that. Its dynamic symbol mechanics and mobile optimisation make it a valuable addition, and we believe players will be thrilled with the results.”
This licensing deal comes shortly after Relax Gaming announced its expansion in Serbia. The company recently opened a new office in central Belgrade, located near the Danube River.
