MGA cancels Totup System gaming licence
Earlier this week, the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) announced that it had cancelled the authorisation awarded to online pools and 바카라 operator, Totup System Limited.
Totup System Limited was provided with a 20-day period within which it could show cause why the MGA should not proceed with the cancellation, but failed to do so.
Breaches
According to the notice of cancellation of authorisation, published by the MGA in April 2023, Totup System Limited violated the following regulations:
- Breach 1- Regulation 3(1)(b) of the Gaming License Fees Regulations. The MGA noted that Totup System Limited repeatedly failed to pay the MGA the applicable license fees for the years 2022 and 2023.
- Breach 2- Regulation (3)(1)(a) and Regulation 6 of the Gaming License Fees regulations. The MGA noted that Totup System Limited has repeatedly failed to pay the applicable compliance contribution fees due to the MGA.
Right to appeal
According to the cancellation of authorisation, Totup System Limited must:
- Suspend all gaming operations with immediate effect and cease to register any new players;
- Settle all outstanding fees that are due to the MGA; and
- Remove with immediate effect, any reference to the Malta Gaming Authority and the authorisation in accordance with Article 51 of the Gaming Act.
Totup System Limited has 20 days to exercise the right to appeal the MGA’s decision under the terms of Article 43(1) of the Gaming Act.
