Organised by the SiGMA Foundation, the charitable evening took place as a highlight of the prestigious SiGMA Asia Awards. More than just an auction, it was a compelling fusion of art, philanthropy, and industry leadership – a celebration of purpose that redefined what it means to give back. Redefining what it means to give back, the gala event brought underserved communities into focus, spotlighting powerful personal stories and showcasing some of the Foundations most transformative projects.
With an elite gaming industry audience in attendance, the auction stood as a testament to how philanthropy can transcend traditional boundaries. Led by auctioneer Rick Goddard and anchored by a heartfelt speech from Chief Philanthropy Officer Keith Marshall, the evenings fast-paced bidding was charged with energy and emotion – creating a palpable sense of purpose throughout the room.
A well known figure at SiGMA events, Goddard was in fine form, delighting guests with a charming patter of anecdotes and jokes and firing up excitement over some of the auctions most sought after pieces. Over the course of the night, a noteworthy 15,200 was raised, with Match Liquidity dominating the bidding floor to take home four out of five of the items up on the block.
An impressive collection of 5 artworks, each piece was generously contributed by renowned artists from across the globe.
Every bid tonight from the SiGMA delegates in attendance helped fund and support vital projects for the Foundation, which this year included key initiatives this month – such as an extension to a hospital in rural Peru, which will provide much-needed healthcare to communities there, and an MMA sports and learning centre in Sao Paulo, a project which targets disadvantaged youth from some of the citys poorest neighbourhoods.
The event received generous support from BETCONSTRUCT, an award-winning technology and service provider for the online and land-based gaming industry.
As a result of its efforts from 2023 to 2024, the foundation has raised a total of $935,400 through charitable auctions. This year, as part of its continued ESG efforts, the SiGMA Group will also donate a percentage of its ticket sales to charitable endeavors.
