Andy Evers, former Commercial Director at DraftKings, as the Commercial Senior Vice President of Gaming Innovation Group (GiG), bringing a wealth of experience in developing commercial partnerships across key markets. His background also includes a leadership role at Betgenius, where he worked extensively with sportsbook and platform solutions in the US, Asia, and Europe.

GiG’s strategic move

Evers’ appointment is seen as a strategic move by GiG to bolster its commercial partnership strategy. James Coxon, COO at GiG, welcomed Evers, highlighting the boost his experience will bring to the business, “Andy’s arrival provides a fantastic boost to the business at a pivotal time.

His experience and proven track record at driving commercial successes feed into our commitment to optimise our partners’ operations, ensuring we remain able to understand and serve their needs, delivering industry leading and world class support in multiple markets.”

Evers himself expressed enthusiasm for joining The Group, praising the company’s vision and strategy, “I’ve been incredibly impressed by the vision and strategy that GiG’s executive management team has implemented, as well as the immense potential for significant growth and expansion within the business.

“Having worked with some of the executive team closely during my time at DraftKings, I’ve seen firsthand the high standards they uphold and I look forward to the challenge of helping scale its operational and commercial capabilities during what promises to be a truly exciting period ahead.”

Financial challenges and opportunities

Gaming Innovation Group will be looking to offset the €28m gap in its 2024 operating profit and address the company’s full-year revenue dropping 15% to €31.8m. However, in Q4 2024, GiG finalised the split of its media and tech business segments, a move that could potentially streamline operations and focus resources more effectively.

Evers’ expertise will be crucial in helping GiG offset these financial challenges by securing additional key market positions. His experience in driving commercial successes will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in enhancing GiG’s revenue streams and improving its financial performance.

Driving innovation and market leadership

GiG’s focus on innovation is well-matched with Evers’ background. At Betgenius, he worked on cutting-edge sportsbook solutions that catered to a wide range of operators. Evers’ understanding of these areas will help GiG maintain its position as a leader in delivering innovative solutions to Tier-1 brands.
