DigiPlus names new CEO and CDO amid global expansion push

DigiPlus Interactive Corp., a fast-growing digital entertainment company in the Philippines, has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer and Chief Digital Officer as part of its expansion into regulated international markets. The announcement was made in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Thursday.

Tommy Hu appointed CEO

The company has promoted Tommy Hu to the position of CEO. Hu previously played a key role in the development and growth of BingoPlus, DigiPlus’ flagship bingo and entertainment platform.

, Hu is a seasoned software engineer and business strategist with more than 20 years of experience in platform innovation, gaming operations, and technology leadership.

In his new role, Hu will lead DigiPlus in its next phase of growth, focusing on international market expansion, product innovation, player protection, and entertainment standards.

Li Jiaqi takes over as CDO

Alongside the CEO appointment, DigiPlus also announced Li Jiaqi, also known as Rick, as its new Chief Digital Officer (CDO).

Rick brings experience from Ant Group, where he served as Head of Solutions for South and Southeast Asia. At Ant Group, he managed technical solutions across multiple product lines, giving him a strong background in digital transformation and financial technology.

DigiPlus noted that in his role as CDO, Rick will guide the company’s strategy in digital innovation, helping it adapt and grow in a constantly evolving digital finance ecosystem.

Growth trajectory

DigiPlus has rapidly climbed the ladder in the Southeast Asian business landscape. The company rose from 482nd in the 2024 Fortune Southeast Asia 500 list to 223rd in 2025, reflecting its aggressive growth and rising market influence.

The group has become a leading name in digital entertainment in the Philippines, backed by a growing portfolio of tech-driven products and services. The leadership changes are seen as a step towards solidifying its international presence and maintaining momentum.

DigiPlus jumps to 223 on Fortune Southeast Asia 500 List

DigiPlus has leaped 259 places to No. 223 on the 2025 Fortune Southeast Asia 500, marking its second consecutive appearance on the list. The ranking tracks companies by revenue, and DigiPlus’ rise reflects a 176 percent increase in turnover to PHP75.2 billion ($1.3 billion) and a 207 percent jump in net income to PHP12.6 billion ($227 million) in 2024.

Last year, the company remitted PHP33.7 billion ($596 million) in taxes and regulatory fees, supporting national programmes in healthcare, education, and infrastructure. Its apps feature responsible gaming tools such as deposit caps and time limits, praised by regulators for promoting player safety. DigiPlus has also committed PHP150 million ($2.7 million) this year towards education, healthcare, and community resilience projects through the BingoPlus Foundation.
