DigiPlus Interactive Corp., a Philippine digital entertainment company, has announced it will begin operations in Brazil this September. The move marks the companys first expansion outside Southeast Asia and aims to tap into one of Latin Americas most promising digital gaming markets.
With a population of over 200 million and internet penetration of nearly 90%, Brazil is a natural next step, Eusebio Tanco, DigiPlus Chairman, said. Our entry into Brazil is part of our strategic expansion programme to usher DigiPlus next phase of growth.
According to the company, it has assembled a dedicated team in Brazil to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and offer culturally relevant entertainment. In March, industry veteran Graham Tidey was appointed as country manager to lead the local operations.
A strong on-ground presence with deep cultural understanding is crucial for our success in Brazil, the company noted. The Brazilian team is tasked with tailoring DigiPlus content to meet local tastes while promoting responsible gaming practices.
DigiPlus said it plans to offer a portfolio of livestreamed games, slots, table games, and exclusive self-developed content via its cloud-based infrastructure. The company described its recent migration to Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a core step in enabling scalable and secure service delivery in international markets.
The companys entry comes as Brazil finalises the implementation of its regulatory framework for online gambling and sports betting. In 2024, the Brazilian government concluded the licensing process, and 68 operators, including DigiPlus Brazil Interactive LTDA, were granted full licences. The regulatory rollout culminated in the launch of a legal iGaming market on 1 January 2025.
The licensing process was overseen by the Secretariat for Prizes and Betting (SPA), which required all licensees to adhere to strict compliance protocols, including anti-money laundering (AML) measures, IT security, and responsible gambling standards.
DigiPlus joins a growing list of licensed international operators, such as Betfair, bet365, and Stake.com, as well as domestic firms competing for market share. As part of the licensing conditions in the South American country, all operators must establish Brazilian legal entities and disclose ownership structures, in line with the governments push for transparency and oversight.
The legalisation of online gambling in Brazil is projected to generate substantial tax revenue, create jobs, and support related industries such as media and technology.
DigiPlus expansion reflects its broader aim of positioning itself as a regional and global provider of regulated, secure, and immersive digital entertainment. The company already operates popular gaming and sports entertainment platforms in the Philippines and is now targeting other high-growth markets where regulation is being established.
DigiPlus portfolio includes BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, SpinPlus, and GameZone, with more platforms under development.
