DICJ may request to suspend operations
In a meeting with Macau’s six 바카라 operators, DICJ informed that they may request to suspend operations on any property with reported new cases of COVID-19
A representative from the city’s Judiciary Police from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau or DICJ released this information today.
According to the authorities, the SAR has not recorded any local cases of the coronavirus for more than four months.
Luis Leong, head of gaming and economic crimes investigation unit of the city’s Judiciary Police said should there be any case of the Covid-19 virus in any of the 바카라s, “might imply the closure of said venue, which could have a significant impact on the economy”
He also reminded the operators to strictly adhere to the guidelines set by the government in relation to welcoming guests in their 바카라 properties.
In mid-August, an official from the city’s Health Bureau said that properties will not be immediately closed down if new coronavirus cases are recorded in other parts of the city. However, the DICJ reminded the operators to increase their efforts in their safety and health protocols in preparation for the influx of guests from mainland China.
Starting mid-July, all guests of the 바카라 are required to have their temperature taken and show their health declaration statement.
The Individual Visa Scheme (IVS) was lifted for visitors coming in from Zhuhai last 12 August, while visitors from Guangdong were allowed issuance IVS in 26 August. Meanwhile, visitors from the rest of mainland China will be issued IVS starting 23 September.
