EstrelaBet has launched Brazil’s first integrity training session for esports in collaboration with Sportradar, according to local media outlet, Games Magazine Brasil. The training, provided to Vivo Keyd Stars, aims to address issues of illegal betting and manipulation in the growing esports sector. This project seeks to introduce the principles and professionalism of conventional sports into the online world of esports.

EstrelaBet’s commitment to responsible gaming

One of Brazil’s fastest-growing betting sites, EstrelaBet, is renowned for promoting moral and responsible gaming. They are heavily involved in sports, supporting media, esports, and football. In addition to hosting integrity courses for conventional football clubs, EstrelaBet is also applying its expertise to the esports industry.

In Brazil’s esports industry, Frederico Gabrich, Chief Legal Officer at EstrelaBet, emphasised the significance of starting a sports integrity effort. To safeguard the ecosystem, he underlined the company’s dedication to ethics and the importance of educating experts about the dangers.

Gabrich stated, “This is the first time the industry brings a sports integrity initiative to the esports universe in Brazil. It reinforces our commitment to ethics, credibility, and the protection of sport. All professionals must understand the risks, know how to act, and be prepared to protect the ecosystem in which they operate.”

Understanding Sportradar’s role

With operations in more than 120 nations, Sportradar focuses on monitoring, evaluating, and stopping sports manipulation. They collaborate with groups like the NBA and FIFA to detect sports betting fraud in real time. Their participation in EstrelaBet’s esports training ensures that best practices are followed globally. Sportradar is expanding in Latin America to protect developing businesses, such as the burgeoning esports industry in Brazil.

Felippe Marchetti, Integrity Partnerships Manager at Sportradar LATAM, emphasised the unique aspects of esports integrity training compared to traditional sports. He expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with EstrelaBet and Vivo Keyd Stars in this pioneering initiative in Brazil.

Marchetti stated, “This is a different kind of training from what we do with football clubs precisely because of the unique characteristics of the gaming scene. It’s a pleasure to collaborate with EstrelaBet and Vivo Keyd Stars in this unprecedented initiative in Brazil.”

Customising integrity training for esports

The training session was created especially to handle the particular challenges of esports and was intended for the players, coaching staff, and management of Vivo Keyd Stars. In discussing the significance of the integrity training session, Hugo Tristão, CEO of Vivo Keyd Stars, emphasised the broader responsibilities of the organisation.

Tristão stated, “Our role as an organisation goes beyond training and preparing athletes for competition. It also involves providing information, educating, and reinforcing responsibility regarding conduct inside and outside the game. Initiatives like this place our players and Vivo Keyd Stars on a new level of professionalism, aligned with the best practices in global sports.”

Although esports are expanding quickly, regulations are gradually catching up. Many companies are susceptible to match-fixing because they lack strong compliance mechanisms. The goal of this programme is to provide them with the knowledge they need to resist manipulation. This training is part of a larger integrity strategy that conforms to international sports standards; additional initiatives in Brazil’s traditional sports and gaming industries are anticipated.
