For weeks, Betatransfer Kassa had been teasing something big on social media. Cryptic posts hinted: “Change is coming.” On February 20, the company’s birthday, the mystery was revealed — a renaming. The team announced they were dropping sub-brands Kassa and Exchanger in favour of a single identity: . We sat down with the company’s CMO, Ujin, to talk about the renaming, the future of payments, and strategic plans for 2025.
Betatransfer is turning nine, and instead of just popping some champagne, you’re announcing a renaming. Why now?
The company has grown significantly over the years, which is reflected in our positioning. We started as a crypto exchange and then expanded into mass payouts, which evolved into a full-fledged payment service — Betatransfer Kassa. At our core, we are an international payment provider with multiple services, markets, and scales. At some point, it became clear that both the market and our clients simply saw us as Betatransfer. So, we embraced that and made it official. It’s a logical step that solidifies our evolution.

It showcases our case studies across various niches, not just iGaming. We’re actively working with dating, investments, edtech, and many other industries. Additionally, the website features client testimonials, reflecting our new transparency strategy. We believe in being open with our clients and partners, and the website directly represents that shift in how we operate as a company.
You’ve been expanding fast. Which markets are the hottest right now?
We’ve made serious moves into emerging economies. Latin America — Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia. Asia — India, South Korea, Japan. These regions are exploding with demand for solid payment solutions. And we’re not done yet — Africa is firmly in our sights for 2026.
But here’s the kicker — we’re not just planting flags on a map for show. If you’re in payments, you know half the solutions out there don’t actually work. We go in with proper groundwork, building solutions that actually deliver. Otherwise, what’s the point?
Scaling like that must be a logistical nightmare. How’s the company keeping up?
Tech is key. We’re levelling up our API and making deeper integrations with clients’ technical infrastructure so everything runs smoother. That means faster dispute resolutions, better fraud prevention, and an overall slicker experience for merchants.
Last year, we saw a huge traffic spike when other payment solutions started crumbling under pressure. Gaming and betting bring insane volumes, and when other providers dropped the ball, that traffic flooded us. Our systems held up — that’s what resilience looks like.
Regarding resilience, 2024 hasn’t been smooth sailing for the payments industry. How are you navigating the storm?
Oh yeah, 2024 has been a rollercoaster. It’s been rough with regulatory crackdowns, fraud prevention measures tightening, and payment cycles getting squeezed. But here’s the deal: this industry never stays still. If you’re waiting for stability, you’re in the wrong game.
We’ve been through this before. We tweaked our fraud prevention, restructured our cascading system, and expanded our pool of payment routes — whatever it takes to keep things running. And while others were scrambling, we were adapting. That’s how you stay ahead.
What changes can we expect in the payment market in 2025?
The future of payments in 2025 looks set to continue the trend of rapid growth, especially in emerging markets. The iGaming sector, for example, is projected to grow even further, with Asia-Pacific regions seeing the fastest expansion. As demand increases, the need for localised, real-time payment systems will become even more critical.
We’re also expecting a surge in adopting alternative payment methods (APMs) and mobile payments alongside the ongoing integration of blockchain and crypto payments. With new markets like Brazil and Africa maturing, businesses will need to focus more on region-specific solutions to meet the local needs of their customers.
Betatransfer has been everywhere lately — a significant presence at industry events. What’s next on the agenda?
A couple of years ago, we went all in on industry events — not just attending, but exhibiting. And it paid off in a big way. These events aren’t just about shaking hands and collecting business cards. They lead to genuine partnerships, actual deals, and real expansion.
So yeah, we’re doubling down with more events, presence, and impact.
And finally — what’s the game plan for 2025?
One word: stability. We’ve proven that we can handle market shifts, regulatory changes, and even full-blown crises. And we’ll keep proving it.
