Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has announced the appointment of Andreas S?neby to its Platform division’s Board of Directors, with immediate effect. S?neby, a seasoned professional in the gaming and technology industries, brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles at companies such as Unibet, Kindred Group, and Kambi.
During his tenure as CIO at Kambi, S?neby was instrumental in driving the companys technology strategy and managing a significant period of growth. Before this, he served as CTO and IT Director at Unibet Group, where he played a key role in the creation of Kambi as a separate entity within the group. His career also includes leadership roles at White Hat Gaming and Instabox, and he currently serves as a Venture Partner at Industrifonden.
S?neby takes over from Tomasz Juroszek on the GiG Platform Board, joining other board members including Petter Nylander, Hessi Mocca, Mikael Riese Harstad, and Nicolas Adlercreutz. This board, focused on the Platform & Sportsbook vertical, is currently operating as a temporary committee under the broader GiG Board. The formation of this committee is part of GiG’s preparations for a planned spinoff of the Platform & Sportsbook division, set to occur on October 1, 2024.
This appointment follows GiG’s recent acquisition of Titan, an SEO and content services provider, for 3.2 million ($3.5 million). The acquisition is expected to bolster the operations of Gentoo Media, previously known as GiG Media. While GiGs media division saw a 39 percent increase in year-on-year revenue during Q2 2024, the Platform & Sportsbook segment faced challenges, with a decline in revenues and adjusted EBITDA. S?nebys addition is seen as a strategic move to enhance GiG’s leadership as it approaches this significant business restructuring.
