Carlo Marafioti, co-founder of Infadawork O?, joins us for our latest affiliate interview on the Affiliate Grand Slam.

Carlo Marafioti talks about their portfolio, which includes MachineSlotOnline.it and slots-777.com, about SEO and how to ensure high rankings – his story continues below.

How did the affiliate business start?

My business partner and I were already working in the industry. I was focused on operations, while Michael was working on lead generation and affiliation. We connected through mutual friends and it seemed like a natural thing to start a business together. From July 2011, we launched the MachineSlotOnline.it with an understanding of the opportunities arising from the provision of licensed 諻儦渠廣 in Italy. It was the right time to launch our first site, so far it’s been a ridiculous journey, counting 4 sites and 11 years in our portfolio. It is also worth noting that we launched the international site slots-777.com in 2014.

What sets us apart from other affiliates? What makes the site unique?

A lot has changed since our first website. In other words, mobile traffic didn’t exist at the time. Most affiliates started small, and many had little budget and were able to learn to be a developer and a content creator at the same time. We didn’t need a lot of overhead to generate valuable leads. But only those who have adapted and embraced change over the past decade have prospered. When things have changed, we’ve seen many partners lose leads. In order to overcome negative spells, we must be resilient. This is because negative curses can occur even in successful businesses.

In 2022, businesses need to integrate operations and technology. Nowadays, the UX has changed, so the UI has to follow suit. Our industry looks like a mobile game and is evolving towards social gaming. Perhaps our best traits are resumed by adapting, studying, understanding and fine-tuning words.

How do you value SEO?

There was a time when SEO was important, but it wasn’t as important as it is today. It wasn’t that we were facing stiff competition from the 諻儦渠廣 we partnered with. There was a lot of leverage to get quality traffic. Over the past five years, SEO has become exponentially more difficult, and your options are limited. Therefore, it is an area that requires daily attention in order to achieve the outcomes that partners expect. This is very important, and without the right SEO team, your affiliate business won’t have the upper hand.

How can I improve my search engine rankings?

It’s really important to focus on quality in all aspects. It’s more like a puzzle, where each piece has to fall in the right place. As always, content matters. What has really changed is the impact of engagement on rankings, and it’s literally the user who decides whether to succeed or fail. There’s no set formula, it’s important to intercept what they’re really looking for and shape your site accordingly.

What will help your performance be successful?

Maintain a stable approach consisting of good analysis, thoughtful strategies, and the highest level of operation. Evaluate feedback and try again. It may seem obvious, but it’s definitely difficult to focus on, especially priorities and what’s next. This is a very busy job, so if you look away for a few months, you may lose your position quickly.

An important factor is how you see your users. It provides valuable content, provides services, and allows users to choose how they want to interact with the site without interference. It’s a big leap not to think of it as a money tree. After all, if they want to play for real money, it must be their choice. Pushy pop-ups will only make you leave the site and never come back.

What added value do you offer?

We are always looking for long-term partners, creating mutual benefits that can last for years. You can’t focus on predatory campaigns or try to make a quick buck. Understanding which offers are right for your users based on conversion and retention rates will add value over time. For our part, we strive to send the best quality customers to the best 諻儦渠 providers. There you can enjoy the best slot range and get the best promotions depending on your profile.

What markets are you focusing on? Do you see any potential in emerging markets?

We own 3 websites in the Italian market and have 1 international site ranking in USA, UK, CA, AU and New Zealand. As of now, only four states have legalized online gambling, so the United States can still be defined as an emerging market. At some point a few years ago, we expected this to expand much faster at the federal level. Canada is an interesting country and is on the verge of legislation. But once again, it may be the same model as the United States. So far, only Ontario appears to be moving forward with concrete steps.

Looking at Latin America, we believe that Brazil will be a great opportunity. In S?o Paulo we were already ready, waiting for the final legal details from the Brazilian government and leaving. Mexico, Colombia and Chile have been on the list of emerging markets for the last decade, but for some reason they don’t seem to be picking up enough pace to justify their investments in terms of alliances.

What importance do you attach to responsible gaming?

諻儦渠寬rs need to understand how fun and exciting it can be to play with real money, but there are some things that need to be taken care of in order to remain just entertainment without causing financial problems. I’ve been creating content at my own pace, but there’s no such “one-size-fits-all” gamble. Therefore, managing player funds is something that affiliates should guarantee by default, rather than maintaining an objective attitude and encouraging reckless betting. It must be recognized that a lot of progress has been achieved in this particular area, also with the help of legal regulations regarding the “wrong way” to promote gambling. We also recognise that our 諻儦渠 partners are strict in their compliance and affiliate content vetting to increase the safety of the industry as a whole.

Can I expect my affiliate business to grow?

I believe that the market has already peaked and is entering a phase of increased M&A activity. With the kind of consolidation that has been happening in the automotive industry for the last 20 years, I don’t think there’s much room for new players in the market. Over time, the investment requirements to remain competitive are increasing, and large media groups with high capital expenditures will always have the upper hand.

I don’t want to sound pessimistic, but I think there will be difficult times ahead. We cannot ignore the fact that the outlook for the global economy is deteriorating rapidly, and costs for the average household are soaring as they have not been in the last 40 years. In the entertainment industry, Netflix recently saw its subscription drop for the first time in a decade, and we believe that the decline in disposable income will inevitably affect the gaming industry as well. Whether this is a temporary shock or something more persistent in time also depends on how the conflict in Ukraine develops. Even if it’s not what I want, I believe that pandemics and wars can reshape the priorities and future of this industry.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I’m very curious; I like to read a lot of books and learn a little bit of everything. Sometimes they are assertive and not afraid of constructive criticism. I have always been drawn to the financial services industry and qualified as a securities broker in the UK in 2007. I never worked in the industry because life chose a different path for my career. I like to exercise every day, and making training a part of my daily routine improves my physical and mental health. “Fortune favors fearlessness” is one of my favorite quotes.
